A relocation to Australia prompted our clients to transform their Sydney base into their permanent family home. Being lovers of luxury travel, they wanted their new home to exude the same refinement found in the world’s most exclusive hotels, with a backdrop befitting to showcase their eclectic collection of traditional Javanese and modern Australian furniture and art. The overall result is an elegant townhouse which exudes Parisian flair and style.   

MILEHAM was engaged to undertake the architectural design, interiors selection and fit out, project management and construction. The original construction of the building created a difficult structural challenge in order to meet the design brief. Out of the box design thinking ensured this challenge was not only overcome, but resulted in a seamless integration of old and new construction. High quality materials and finishes were utilised throughout. New engineered timber floors in a light honey colour were laid to increase the reflective qualities of natural light. The spatial layout of the main living level was reconfigured to accommodate a large chef’s kitchen with seamless flow to the living, dining and entertaining areas. Extensive custom joinery works were undertaken to upgrade the amenity of the bedrooms and downstairs media room, along with the addition of a new, self-contained wine cellar.

A deceptively large home, the numerous levels and areas cohesively accentuate the design aesthetic of this luxuriously appointed residence.
